We were met with a vibrant community with enthusiasm towards learning, we had over 30 adults and 60 children in attendance.

The community Secretary coordinated the event and asked for his  people to pay attention, as they were going to practice what they had learnt. They were taught how to plant using plastic containers to grow their crops because they do not have access to soil, since the environment is waterlogged and therefore not suitable for growing vegetables. Also, water available there is salty due to their nearness to the Atlantic ocean.

We supplied them soil and compost as a medium to grow. The community members planted Moringa, Tomatoes, Ewedu, Efo to mention a few.

After our demonstrations by our representative, each of them was told to replicate the same process as shown previously.

Then the participants also learned when and how to wet their vegetable/fruit garden at home.

We spoke with Christopher and Elizabeth(members of the community) who expressed their joy at our visit and also thanked us for choosing their community for such a project and hope6 we visit more often for such sensitization and outreach.
